The Divine Trinity

The inherent power of the number three has amazed philosophers and mathematicians for thousands of years. A three-legged stool (tripod) is always stable regardless of the length of each leg. Both space and time are measured in three dimensions — height, width, and depth; past, present, and future (beginning, middle, and end).

"Grace to you and peace from him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the Seven Spirits who are before His throne..." — Revelation 1:4 "The Spirit is one in name but sevenfold in virtues." — Saint Beatus of Lungern

Throughout the Ageless Wisdom teachings, the Supreme Creator (Godhead / Brahman) is said to radiate in Seven Rays or Streams of Spirit. The first three Rays manifest as the Holy Trinity — God's primary emanation. The remaining four Rays are attributes or subsidiary Rays. Similarly, three primary colors are sufficient to create all seven colors plus infinite variations. And three musical notes (1,3,5) from a scale of seven blend into a complete, harmonious chord.

	The Rosicrucian Cross 1 Spirit - 2 Consciousness - 3 Matter The vertical bar represents the Spiritual World -1- and the horizontal is the material world -3-. The Rose at the center or Soul -2- of the cross is Consciousness, the intersection of Spirit and matter. Notice, also, that the cross calvary is a trinity of steps.

Many expressions of the Divine or Holy Trinity can be seen in the grid below. In each row, the Spiritual Path (Soul/Consciousness -2-) connects the Creator (Spiritual Cause -1-) with His Creation and its creatures (material effect -3-). A better understanding of each element of the Trinity can be found by also reading the yellow area as three columns.

Note: In the following model, the Spiritual Path by which man evolves back home to the Godhead is not vertical, but the horizontal connection of Spiritual Cause to material effect. The grid below would probably be more easily understood if it were rotated clockwise 90-degrees so that God stands above Soul, and Soul above Man, etc. It's simply the limitations of page width that requires us to lay out the Trinities left to right so we can scroll down the chart.
